Pizza delivery man takes life-saving action in Lawrenceville
News

LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. -- A pizza delivery driver is credited with what may have been a life-saving move in Gwinnett County, Thursday.

Gwinnett fire officials said that the man called 911 when he saw smoke pouring from a home in the 2700 block of Tribble Mill Road SE outside of Lawrenceville. But his actions didn't stop there.

The driver stopped and honked his horn to alert those inside to the fire and then went up to knock on the door. He was met by a woman as she exited the home. The woman and her dog made it out safely.

Soon firefighters responded to the scene of a blaze they are now saying caused moderate damage to the second floor of the home.

Crews found heavy smoke showing from the roof and an active fire on the second floor.  Firefighters deployed attack hose lines and entered the burning home to conduct a primary search and combat the blaze.

Fire investigators said the blaze appeared accidental and may have been sparked by an electrical issue.
