News

LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. (WXIA) -- The man who faked being an injured Iraq War veteran and has been scamming churches and veterans groups is now behind bars.

Policle said Michael Allen Bradshaw, 33, turned himself in to a pair of Gwinnett County deputies as they ate dinner at a Krystal Restaurant in Lawrenceville Tuesday night.

Duluth police charged Bradshaw with misdemeanor theft by deception. They said Bradshaw conned a Korean church there out of $200 by claiming to be an injured Iraq War veteran down on his luck.

Roswell police charged Bradshaw after a similar scam last June, where he made the same claim to a VFW Post. Bradshaw got out of jail from that charge on bond.

According to Lt. Sean Smith with the Gwinnett County Sheriff's Department, Bradshaw is in the Gwinnett County Jail on a $2,400 bond.
