Car break-in suspect plagues Gwinnett neighborhoods

GWINNETT COUNTY, Ga. -- Gwinnett County Police believe one man is responsible for at least 15 car break-ins in two neighborhoods.

The crimes began in early January. They happened in the Kentshire subdivision off Arnold Road near Lawrenceville, and the Planters Walk subdivision, which backs up to Kentshire.

Gwinnett County Police Cpl. Michele Pihera said in each case, the suspect entered an unlocked car or smashed a locked car's window. He took mostly wallets, clothing and power tools.

Surveillance cameras on one victim's home caught images of a man breaking into a truck and stealing items from its bed. He is described as a black or Hispanic man with short hair.

Anyone with information in this case is asked to call Crime Stoppers Greater Atlanta at 404-577-TIPS. Tipsters may be eligible for a reward of up to $2,000.
