Vince Lombardi play coming to Aurora Theatre | Arts & Culture
LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. -- A play about legendary NFL coach Vince Lombardi will be staged at the Aurora Theatre this winter.
Lombardi enjoyed a brief run on Broadway in 2010 and 2011 -- appropriately, at the same time the Green Bay Packers won Super Bowl XLV and took home the Lombardi trophy. The play is based on the book When Pride Still Mattered -- A Life of Vince Lombardi by David Maraniss.
Aurora favorite Bart Hansard will play the title character, while Carolyn Cook will make her debut at the Lawrenceville theater in the role of Lombardi's wife Marie.
Lombardi opens Thursday, Jan. 16 and runs through Sunday, Feb. 9. The Aurora Theatre will hold a special Tailgate Party on Saturday, Feb. 1 from 5 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
Shows are Wednesday through Saturday at 8 p.m., and Saturday and Sunday at 2:30 p.m. Tickets range in price from $20 to $30. There will be a $16 matinee on Wednesday, Feb. 5 at 10 a.m.
The Aurora Theatre is located at 153 Crogan Street in historic downtown Lawrenceville. Visit auroratheatre.com for more information and to buy tickets to Lombardi.
